Personal | Meeting Ryan McGinley

Last night, we had dinner with Ryan McGinley and his brother, who is a good friend of the family. He was in town visiting after shooting in Asheville, NC and before heading out to Istanbul. He also just photographed Lady Gaga for the next cover of Rolling Stone. I got to see the pre-release photo on his iPhone - terrific lighting.

Ryan is an internationally known photographer, and his images have exhibited in London, New York and beyond. His work can be controversial, but you have to admit, it's pretty freakin' awesome. Check out his website here (viewer discretion is advised).

Families | Serving Our Country

Last Sunday, I met up with the Burgers and Eklunds for a combined family shoot in Downtown Matthews.  One of their family members is set to deploy in the near future, so they wanted to capture everyone together before they are reunited next year. 

For some families, it isn't often that they all gather together for a photo opportunity. One of the best parts of my job is being able to provide photographic evidence of these special moments in time - they are priceless.

Thanks, guys, for allowing me to do this for you and for being good sports with the reflector! You are always a blast :)
